EL MONTE – El Monte City School District has hired a new a director of nutrition services with experience on school nutrition teams across Southern California.
Jenny Lee, a lifelong Southern California resident, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in physiological science and minored in public health at UCLA. She received a Master of Public Health at Loma Linda University. She is a registered dietitian.
She arrives at El Monte City School District from Central School District in Rancho Cucamonga, where she served for almost four years as the director of the child nutrition and purchasing. Before that, she worked as nutrition services operation manager at Chino Valley Unified School District for over three years. She has also worked at Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District and Riverside Unified School District.
"I believe that when we serve our students wholesome and inspiring meals while supporting their community through nutrition education and improving food access, school food service can provide the perfect setting for lifelong healthy eating habits,” Lee said.
